Plugins are a great way to add more features to your site, but you want to be careful which ones you add, since plugins also create another “entrance” to your site. The best way to protect yourself from hackers is to make sure you only add quality plugins. Use plugins that you really need and delete plugins that you aren’t using anymore. A great way to gauge if a plugin is quality, or not, is by looking at the number of downloads it has already had. (A high number is best.)
In the next 2 lessons we'll delete a few plugins that came with Wordpress, ones you don't need, and show you how to add the ones you do want.
